Addressable Multi-State Multi-Sensor Detector

DUT-6046AD

Overview

The DUT-6046 multi-sensor smoke and heat detector is designed to detect a visible smoke and a rise in temperature, which are indicative of an early stage of an open fire ignition. This detector is characterized by a significant resistance to air velocity and changes in air pressure. The application of a double smoke detecting systems (IR and UV) as well as a double heat detecting systems ensures increased resistance to false alarms, caused by e.g. water vapour and dust inside the measuring chamber, while maintaining small dimensions and high aesthetics of the product.

The DUT-6046 detectors can operate in lines/loops of addressable POLON 4000/POLON 6000 system fire alarm panel.

Principles of operation

The principle of operation of smoke detection is based on Tyndall effect – light is reflected form the smoke particles which get into the measurement chamber. The light emitted by transmitting photodiode, after is reflected form the particles of smoke, is received by the receiving photo element and causing change of the photocurrent. Rise of temperature in the vicinity of detector causes resistance change of one or two thermistors. Information from these four sensors are subjected to the advanced analysis by the detector’s microprocessor which evaluate the level of fire threat.

Communication between the control panel and the DUT-6046 detector is carroed out isung addressable two-wire detector line/loops. A unique fully digital communication protocol enables to transfer any type of information from the control panel to the detector and from detector to the control panel. e.g: an estimation of environmental conditions (smoke, rise of temperaure), changes of these factors and an analogue value of the temperature and smoke density.

The microprocessor, which controls the operation of the detector, sends all information about the detector faults to the control panel.

The DUT-6046 is an analogue detector with the self-adjustment feature which guarantee constant sensitivity level during the detector operation time even if any dirtiness appears inside measurement chamber. When the certain dirtiness level is exceeded the detector sends to the control panel information about the maintenance necessity.

The detectors are equipped with internal short circuit isolators, which isolate a properly operating part of the detection loop from the neighbouring damaged part. This enables continous, undisrupted operation of the detector.

Fire alarm condition is indicated with red blinking of two LED diodes located on the two opposite sides of the detector. The indicator enables personnel to fast location of alarming detector it is helpful during periodical maintenance. When the detector in not well seen or it is installed in place without easy access an external optical indicator WZ-31 can be connected to the detector and enable the detector’s identification.

Any fault, technical alarm and activation of internal short circuit insulator is indicated by the yellow blinks of LED indicators.

The DUT-6046 detector has four basic modes of operation, which enable the user to set the best parameters with respect to a specific environment:

mode 1 – interdependent operation of two smoke sensors and two heat sensors,

mode 2 – interdependent operati on of two smoke sensors,

mode 3 – operation as heat detector in class A1R,

mode 4 – independent operation of two smoke sensors and heat sensors.
